At Be Blessed Selfcatering, our story began with humble beginnings and a leap of faith.
In 1994, my father started a small grocery store in Richmond. Not long afterwards, he asked my husband, Saag, and me if we would come to Richmond to help out for just three months.
With many tears, and the firm promise that it would be only for three months, we packed up our lives and moved to this little Karoo town. We lived in a small farmhouse, sleeping on a mattress on the floor, with only a TV and a 5-litre box of wine to keep us company.
Needless to say, those three months turned into 31 years.
Over the years, our family experienced both joy and heartbreak. We lost loved ones and faced many challenges, but through it all, the people of Richmond showed us the true meaning of community. Neighbours became family. They stood beside us as mothers and fathers, and later as grandparents to our two children.
Today, our roots are firmly planted in this remarkable town. The little grocery shop where it all began has grown into a SPAR, and the humble farmhouse has made way for Be Blessed Selfcatering.
The name Be Blessed was chosen to honour every guest who walks through our doors. It is our wish that each visitor leaves feeling refreshed, encouraged, and blessed on their journey through life.
While much has changed over the years, one thing remains the same: Richmond is still our home, and we love sharing it with others.
We look forward to welcoming you as part of our extended family and community.
